Sure, it's fun to spoil Dad with
cool gifts on Father's Day. But, we guarantee, he'd be just as happy (if not more) with some quality time spent making breakfast together. Don't mind the mess, just soak in the memories creating and sharing a meal together.
Tiffany's dad, known to us as GP (a name bestowed by the first grandchild in the family, Hannah Grace), is an excellent cook. In fact, we lovingly refer to his kitchen as GP's Café; he's always whipping up something that we're willing (and eager) to test. His favorite meal is also our favorite to try: brunch. Room for sweet flavors as well as savory, we're always excited to see what's on the menu.
This weekend, try his favorite waffle recipe, adapted from
America's Test Kitchen. On top of being super easy, it uses
buttermilk powder (an exciting ingredient for GP, a chemical engineer), which is found in most grocery stores and actually keeps in the refrigerator for up to a year. That means these waffles will be easy to create again and again - without wasting quick-spoiling buttermilk. See the full recipe below (then tell us how they turn out!)
