Meet the Founders: Tiffany
The countdown is on, friends! If you're here on the island, you've noticed that store build out at 4810 First Coast Highway is well underway. Our team has invested sweat, tears, and now blood (thanks to an unfortunate - and thankfully minor - nail gun incident when installing shiplap). Through social media, you're getting to know the store - but, we're dying to share a little more about the people behind it. So, voila, we're rolling out a new blog series: Meet the Founders.
We'll kick things off with Tiffany, pulling double duty as interior designer for Lola Interiors and chooser-of-all-things-pretty at Cape House. She gives creative input across the board - from branding to big picture merchandising, interior material selections for the store, and more. She also serves as main buyer, picking out each and every item that you'll soon see when we open our brick and mortar (and virtual!) doors. Enough about what she does - get to know who she is below:
ON CAPE HOUSE...
What's your vision for Cape House? "Ultimately, I see Cape House as a known name with a distinct and recognizable style on Amelia Island and in Jacksonville - and beyond - as we expand in other markets. More than our image, I see us known just as much for our heart and mission!"
KEEPING IT LIGHT...
Last three photos on your phone? An Aspen Bay candle that I love and want to carry at the store; a picture of my daughter, Hannah Grace, and Lance & Lauren's daughter, Addi Grace, on the beach; and a screenshot of a room that inspired me.
Currently reading? Favorite book? Currently reading the book of John. Favorite book would either be For the Love by Jen Hatmaker or Bread & Wine by Shauna Niequist (which actually inspired the store in part.) Who would play you in a movie of your life? Tiffani Amber Thiessen - and it would DEFINITELY be a romantic comedy! We share a name, and people say she's my celebrity doppelgänger. Favorite ice cream flavor? Cookies 'n Cream. Favorite meal? A filet, baked potato, broccoli or asparagus, and a good salad with spicy ranch. Favorite room in your home? The kitchen - it’s cliché, but it really is where people gather. It's definitely not my favorite because of the food either - I always say, I hate to cook, but I love collecting dishes!  Favorite season? Early fall - I love it when it starts to cool down; it's still light out pretty late, but it's not scorching! I love the beginning of football season - not really for the football... but the gatherings the sport inspires. Ha! The start of fall also means the holiday season is coming up.  Favorite holiday tradition? Christmas decorating (not surprising at all)! I love when my home begins to look and feel like Christmas, my favorite holiday. I change it up each year based on what's inspiring me that season. I start really early (I think because my mom always waited until the last minute to decorate) - and also take everything down pretty quickly, too, like the day after (or sometimes of...) Christmas!
