How to "Cozy" Up Your Home After the Holidays
Is your tree still up?! While I typically pack up my Christmas decor on December 26th, this year it just felt wrong to unplug the lights so early. Each year I get excited about kicking off January with a clean & tidy house but after boxing up the stockings and garland, my house usually feels a lot less warm and cozy. So while many of us are celebrating the last day of the decade, I'm plotting how I can up the coziness factor in my home after I take down my Christmas decorations!
Here's what's on my "project: cozy up the house!" to-do list!
1. Refresh my picture frame collection!
We captured so many special moments on camera this year! From my daughter's first birthday to family vacations, I want to fill our home with these happy memories. I'm replacing frames that don't bring me joy (still on a Marie Kondo kick over here!) with the Cape House tortoise frames I've been eyeing and I'm taking a trip to CVS to print out new photos! Ps. Please tell me I'm not alone in having a few frames that still boast the stock photos they came with?!
2. Stock up on winter candles.
Who says you have to pack up the winter scents after Santa comes to town?! There's something about warmer scents and the flicker of a candle just screams "cozy!" So next time you're shopping the holiday clearance section, be sure to grab your favorites!
3. Add more lamp lighting.
I'm combatting the winter blues with a new pair of lamps. Lamp lighting can make a room feel like home with the flick of a switch! The Culloden lamps in the prettiest shade of blue are practically calling my name! And I think after a bit of Spring cleaning I can make room for these brushstroke beauties too! Don't have the surface space for table lamps? Try a floor lamp!

4. Bring on the blankets!
There is no shame in my blanket game! The spot where the Christmas tree stands always seems so bare after the holidays. So this year when I replace the balsam fir with the little fiddle fig that typically resides in that corner, I'll also add a blanket basket full of warm and fluffy throws! If baskets aren't your thing, toss a blanket over your sofa or chair for easy access and a textured look you'll love!
