Today, Sunday, November 12th marks
Orphan Sunday, a worldwide movement of local church-led initiatives that rouse believers with God's call to
care for the orphan. In addition to shedding light on the global (and domestic)
orphan crisis, these events share information on how each of us can respond - whether that is in prayer, monetary funds, service to those caring for orphans, foster care, or adoption.
One way that we plan to respond this year is through the sale of handmade black and white angel ornaments, only $8.00 a piece. The holiday season is here - and it's only a matter of time before you begin to decorate (or like us, you already have!) These one-of-a-kind pieces - that we also love as a finishing touch atop a wrapped gift - are beautiful for many reasons. For one, profits from every ornament sold will go to
Three Angels Haiti, a nonprofit that holds a special place in our heart. Additionally, each one is crafted by Three Angels
Bijou Project artisans - an initiative that provides jobs and steady income to Haitian women. And, the black and white designs are made exclusively for
Cape House!

For over 10 years, Three Angels has served orphans and at-risk families in Haiti, partnering with the community "to share and experience the love of Christ in tangible ways." Their mission: "to help children in Haiti escape poverty so that they may experience God's love, become part of a healthy home, and grow into who they are called to be." Their
programs (including a school, orphanage, farm, Bijou jewelry project, and medical clinic) aims to bring sustainable change to the community - in hopes that every child in Haiti would have the "opportunity to live in a healthy home either in Haiti or abroad."
Both
Wes and
Tiffany and
Lance and
Lauren have sponsored students at the school for several years, and in 2015, the four took a trip to visit the facilities and see firsthand the great work Three Angels does in the Caribbean country.
Take in this short video to see it for yourself - and consider purchasing an ornament (or three or four) to benefit their work this season. They're available at our Amelia Island store location - and we're also happy to take orders over the phone!
